“And suddenly you know… it's time to start something new and trust the magic f beginnings’’

The quote I wrote above somehow explains my story of how I started my journey with Amal Academy. I was about to graduate when I applied for Amal fellowship. Going through interviews, orientation sessions along with my final exams. My four-year journey was ending I needed to connect somewhere to keep myself busy and not to feel the extreme sadness of my graduation which is probably a natural thing. Everybody is sad about there graduation but I was sadder because of the way my beautiful journey of university ended.

Then comes my first day at Ammal ;

Starting from the very first day, I was extremely energetic looking forward to spending my 3 months in extremely productive things. My first session was amazing I enjoyed it. Met the fellows. My PM ma'am Anum & PA sir Ahmed.

I was enjoying my PW and online sessions. the best thing I learned and which actually changed me was writing the gratitude letters to my loved ones. I always say thank you to everyone but after the course, I realized those thank you were meaningless thankyou. I now often write letters to my loved ones to let them know how much they mean to me. So this course actually developed my more interest in the fellowship.

My journey in amal was not less than a roller coaster ride, After my 5th week I wanted to level this fellowship maybe because of some extra dramatic stories people were telling in the fellowship, I believed those stories were not really. and was taking them to my heart I was being too serious. And maybe at that time my life was totally rotating and was getting my unwanted and unpleasant surprises daily. And I just wanted to leave the fellowship. Then I had a word with my PM and had a detailed discussion for literally 45 mins and then after that call, I realized that why should I leave the fellowship because of the negative vibes of other people? I should stay calm and enjoy my fellowship and ignore the part which I don't want to listen to.

Then I came back with some more energy refilled my energy and tried to keep myself calm and positive. I really enjoyed the passenger series I learned so many things. The best part was writing a cover letter and practicing making my superhero resume. I learned how to find jobs and how to make sure you get the job. I learned to be more positive.

“A positive mind finds opportunity in everything. A negative mind finds fault in everything.”

I couldn't interact with all of my fellows but I am sure they all are beautiful human beings. The ones I got a chance to interact with were all amazing people. Working with my circle leader is amazing I feel happy to see how much effort these fellows are putting in the fellowship.

So in the end I will say the biggest change I see in myself when I look back on my 3 months the changes which I have learned is to bear the people I didn't want to, I learned the teamwork, being more positive. The most important thing, throughout my life I have always been a well-known person, I enjoyed my amal journey as a backbencher and the experience was great backbenchers are the most vigilant and keen observers.

Thank you my facilitators for bearing me and helping me whenever I needed it. This journey is soon to end but I am hopeful something amazing is waiting for me after this.

“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”
